Department Description

Corporate Communications and Employee Communications are separate teams, both reporting into the Global Head of Corporate Affairs and work closely to ensure that key messages are aligned and promoted to the relevant audiences in an optimal manner. In Asia Pacific, the two teams cover 7 countries (Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia and the Middle East) with team members based in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Taipei.

Purpose of your role

As a senior member of the Regional Corporate Communications team, you will be responsible for driving our Greater China Corporate Communications agenda. Above all, we are looking for someone who brings strategic thinking and an innovative mindset to this role. We are increasingly utilizing digital and social channels to communicate with the media, clients and other external stakeholders, particularly in Mainland China. We are looking for someone with experience in crafting campaigns and who is digitally and social media savvy to join the team.

We would like to continue developing a strong share of voice in national and trade press regionally, and to build stronger and trusted relationships with key media representatives. In addition, the role will be responsible for ensuring these Greater China activities can be more widely leveraged across the region. As part of the regional Corporate

Communications team, you will also deal with issues and crisis management and a strong background in both is essential for the job.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to think strategically as well as execute campaigns
  • Knowledge of and implementation skills of digital/social campaigns
  • Knowledge of the Chinese media landscape and key relationships with journalists
  • Ability and proven track record in managing reputational issues
  • Team player - collaborative, inclusive mindset; excited to be part of a regional team to share best practices and pitch in and work closely with colleagues in different countries.
  • Strong presentation skills; able to moderate events such as webcasts and act as an ambassador/spokesperson for the company
  • Support the execution of public relations, corporate communications and media programmes in Greater China in accordance with business goals and desired outcomes of regional/country heads and sales heads.
  • Work with Regional Corp Comms and Marketing teams in local countries to review available investment commentaries and ensure positive media placements and articles in media regionally
  • Leverage the in-house studio in the Hong Kong office for regional media coverage.
  • Draft and review press releases, determine media lists and establish a calendar of op-ed articles and placements in conjunction with the designated PR agency.
  • Support visiting portfolio managers and division heads prior to media interviews, media meetings and press conferences, to ensure key messages are communicated and leaders are appropriately prepared.
  • Support activities that will enhance Fidelity's public policy reputation regionally, develop profiles in selected speakers circuit and influence key stakeholders.
  • Support and coordinate and organise media educational tours, press conferences and media events for specific journalists.
  • Support the production of corporate communications and media materials to be used regionally.
  • Provide employee communications support regionally as required in relation to internal comms and corporate citizenship activities.
