ROLE SNAPSHOT

Newly created DevOps Engineer position responsible for the reliability, scalability and security of Microsoft Azure-based platform that underpin the company's customer-facing platforms.

It's a hands-on technical role to build, scale and optimise Azure platforms; design & deploy CI/CD pipelines; improve platform reliability; enabling rapid and reliable software delivery; and drive DevOps and DevSecOps best practices.

You'll work in a small yet highly motivated and capable team, both locally and geographically dispersed.

Full time in office role.

Responsibilities include:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop, manage, and review Terraform-based cloud infrastructure with an emphasis on repeatability, security, and maintainability.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Container Orchestration: Manage containerized workloads across AKS and on-premises environments.
• Data Platform Administration: Configure, manage, and support Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Cache for Redis, covering monitoring, availability, backup and recovery, scaling, security, private endpoints, alerting, troubleshooting, and optimisation of data and cache usage.
• Observability: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and the ELK Stack.
• Azure Durable Functions: Deploy, support, monitor, and optimise Durable Functions for long running, stateful serverless workflows, including orchestration, retries, error handling, checkpointing, and production troubleshooting.
• Security: Apply cloud security controls, network security groups, identity and access practices, and secure secrets management.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE / BACKGROUND / QUALITIES:

Suitable for a mid-senior level DevOps Engineer with strong experience managing, improving, and scaling Azure cloud infrastructure; deploying CI/CD pipelines and Container technologies.

Ideal if you're seeking a role where you can utilise your experience to make things better inside a collaborative environment where you can be heard and directly see your impact.

The following is required:

• Background as a mid-senior DevOps Engineer managing production environments in Azure (or similar).
• Strong experience designing & maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools - preferably Terraform.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Container technologies.
• Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and ELK Stack experience (or similar)
• Configuration and support with SQL database.
• Experience collaborating with geographically dispersed IT teams.
• Personality & attitude - a self-starter who can take the initiative, make decisions, and enjoys actively collaborating with others to solve interesting problems.

An 'ownership mentality' who enjoys operating in a flat team structure.

Good people skills to confidently communicate with stakeholders at all levels is needed.

• Comfortable with full time in the office.

This is a full-time permanent role located near Homebush (full time in office) and is offering $150,000 - $180,000 (plus super) - depending on experience.
