Finance Manager - National Role
Melbourne CBD | High-growth national business
An opportunity has opened for an ambitious Finance Manager to join a rapidly growing national organisation at an important stage of its development.
The business has grown significantly through a combination of acquisitions and organic expansion. With that growth comes the opportunity to bring greater consistency, structure and visibility across finance nationally.
This is a broad role combining hands-on financial management with group reporting, process improvement and business partnering. You'll work across multiple offices and entities and have genuine exposure to senior leadership.
The role
You will take ownership of the day-to-day national finance function while helping build more consistent processes across the group. Responsibilities will include:
- Managing monthly reporting and financial close across multiple entities
- Coordinating with state-based finance teams to improve reporting and consistency
- Overseeing operational finance including AP, AR and accounting activities
- Providing detailed management reporting
- Improving financial controls, processes and reporting across the group
- Supporting the integration of acquired businesses into the broader finance structure
- Leading national finance initiatives, including requirements across different jurisdictions
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, automation and use of technology within finance
- Managing and developing junior finance team members
- Partnering with senior leaders and stakeholders across the national business
About you
This role could suit an experienced Senior Accountant ready for their next step or Finance Manager looking for broader group-level exposure.
You will ideally bring:
- CA/CPA qualification or equivalent
- Strong financial accounting and reporting experience
- Exposure to multi-entity or group environments
- Big 4, mid-tier or similarly complex commercial experience
- The ability to work across both detailed accounting and broader business issues
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with senior stakeholders
- A practical approach to improving processes and solving problems
You don't need to have done every element of the role before. The business is open to someone with strong foundations who is ready to step into a broader position and grow with the organisation.
The opportunity
You'll join a business that is continuing to grow, work directly with senior finance leadership and have the opportunity to influence how the national finance function develops.
For someone looking to move beyond a traditional Senior Accountant or Finance Manager role into broader group responsibility, this is a strong next step.
