About the team:
The Associate PO supports the success of the product. In this role, they work closely with the delivery team to help provide clarity on the product vision and goals. They contribute to maintaining and prioritising the product backlog to support the achievement of business outcomes, and assist in ensuring the work delivered by the team maximises value.
The Associate Product Owner sits within the Equities Product Team in Securities & Payments and is dedicated to the CHESS Project. Operating as part of the Upstream and Tooling Integration Delivery team, the role focuses on enabling industry readiness and system connectivity by supporting the design, delivery of test kits, system integration and support tooling.

What you will be doing:
- Support the planning, developing, managing and prioritising backlogs to meet business objectives and outcomes
- Working within a team to deliver new and improved products and service offerings
- Create and maintain the knowledge of the product
- Optimising the value of the development team's work
- Assist in translating high level vision/strategic outcomes of the product into detailed scoping and requirements
- Work with the scrum master on delivery timelines via agile ceremonies - sprint planning, grooming and retrospectives.
- Work closely with a range of stakeholders for the product, including non-customer stakeholders such as finance, security operations, support, audit, and others.
- Support communication and collaboration between stakeholders and delivery teams
- Contribute to the overall Product Vision and Roadmap and communicate the vision and roadmap to ensure teams are aligned and ready to execute against them.
- Ensure requirements (e.g. user stories) are well-defined, clear, and aligned to product strategy
- Actively participate as a member of the Product Management Community of Practice (CoP)
What you will bring:
Must have
- Financial services experience
- Experience working in agile delivery teams, with the ability to support multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to delivery outcomes with a customer-first mindset
- Experience supporting backlog refinement and prioritisation to align with business objectives
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally on product initiatives
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders, team members, and leadership
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Commerce, Business, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
- Understanding of digital practices and principles
- Understanding of UI/UX design principles
- Understanding of ASX customers, products and services
