Responsibilities

As Team Lead Private Banking, you are a key driver of our success. As the regional ambassador for Private Banking, you represent Private Banking in East and West Flanders.

You drive growth and ensure client portfolio retention by building and maintaining strong client relationships while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

You lead a team of Private Bankers dedicated to delivering tailored services to a high-net-worth clientele.

Your main responsibilities are:
  • Business Development & Client Relationship Management
    Identify and leverage market trends, business development opportunities, events, and partnerships to expand DB's Private Banking client base and market share. Promote acquisition and retention of HNW (High-Net-Worth) and UHNW (Ultra-High-Net-Worth) clients, acting as a trusted advisor and key point of contact.
  • Strategic Leadership & Regional Representation
    Contribute to the implementation of regional or divisional strategies to achieve growth and profitability objectives. Act as the ambassador and spokesperson for Private Banking in the region, strengthening visibility and positioning DB as a leading Private Banking player in Brussels and its surroundings.
  • Team Management
    Lead and manage a team of Private Banking Specialists, ensuring adherence to performance and service standards. Support the team in prospecting, negotiating, and closing deals while fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Collaboration & Integrated Solutions
    Coordinate with key stakeholders in wealth management services (Investment DPM, WAM, IM, Estate Planning, Credits, AFC/Compliance) to deliver comprehensive and personalized solutions to clients.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
    Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies regarding risk management and codes of conduct.

Skills

  • Sector and Product Expertise: Strong knowledge of the Private Banking market, estate planning, investment management, credit solutions, and financial markets to deliver exceptional value to clients.
  • Client Orientation: Commercial mindset, client-focused approach, and persuasive skills. Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with HNW and UHNW clients.
  • Business Development & Networking: Proactive, entrepreneurial, and results-driven. Ability to establish a high-level Private Banking network regionally to attract potential clients.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to design and implement regional strategic plans for client acquisition, revenue growth, and market expansion.
  • Leadership & Communication: Ability to motivate your team and foster internal collaboration. Communicate transparently and effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Background: University degree or equivalent with proven experience of 5 years or more in Private Banking. Demonstrated track record of success in building a client portfolio and in leading client discussions with clarity, confidence, and professionalism. Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken; knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
