Aufgaben
- Oversee financial accounting and finance operations for the German entity while supporting the wider European organization
- Lead, develop and mentor a small finance team, ensuring high standards of performance and efficiency
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes, including statutory financial statements under German GAAP (HGB) and support IFRS reporting / group consolidation
- Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning and working capital management
- Deliver accurate management reporting, financial insights and ad-hoc analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Act as a trusted business partner to stakeholders across multiple functions and countries
- Coordinate external audits and collaborate with auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement, automation and standardization of finance processes as well as controls
Profil
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a comparable qualification (e.g. Certified Accountant, Bilanzbuchhalter IHK or equivalent)
- In-depth experience in accounting and finance, including leadership responsibility
- Strong knowledge of German statutory accounting (HGB) and German tax regulations, particularly VAT
- Ideally initial experience in a regulated environment such as financial services, fintech, payments, banking or a similar industry is advantageous
- Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and reporting
- Strong systems knowledge such as Power BI, including ERP and reporting tools, with excellent Excel skills
- Analytical mindset combined with commercial awareness and strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Fluency in English is essential as well as a professional level of the German language
