The Data Governance AVP oversees the management and integrity of the organisation’s data assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting strategic initiatives. The role plays a key part in enhancing data processes, quality, and architecture within a dynamic environment.
The organisation operates within the financial sector, with a focus on robust data management practices and cross-departmental collaboration to meet regulatory and business needs.
Role Overview
The Data Governance AVP manages both the Client Data Team and Product Data Team, overseeing account opening, maintenance processes, and regulatory exercises. The role involves designing data flow in internal systems, collaborating with IT to ensure data infrastructure supports business objectives, and leading data quality and standardisation initiatives. Success is measured by improved data accuracy, streamlined operations, and compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
Key Skills & Experience
- Manage client and product data teams to oversee data processes and monitoring
- Design data flow within internal systems, including overseas entities
- Conduct data quality checks and resolve discrepancies to uphold data integrity
- Collaborate with IT to align data architecture with business needs
- Lead efforts in data cleansing, standardization, and enrichment
- Assist in developing and implementing a centralised data platform
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts on data processes
- Drive process improvements and automate workflows using RPA or data visualization tools
- Act as a liaise between business units, operations, compliance, and IT
- Manage the preparation and submission of regulatory reports according to SFC and other requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Data Science or related disciplines
- Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience
- Candidates with over 2 years of full-time working experience in Hong Kong or overseas is an advantage
- Experience handling account opening, product data, pricing data, and data flow design and monitoring
- Proven project coordination experience
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of RPA and VBA coding is an advantage
- Fluency in Mandarin, English, Cantonese
- A team player with strong interpersonal skills, independence, self-motivation, attention to detail, patience, and responsibility
This position is on-site, based in Asia, with a fixed term of 2 weeks, starting from 12/08/2026. The role is within a permanent employment structure.
