Our client, a leading bank in Hong Kong, is seeking a Head of Digital & Innovation to develop and lead the Innovation and Digital Strategy—covering channel, delivery, and risk management—to support the long-term growth of Transaction Banking across relevant business areas.

He/ She will also drive Digital Revenue and own end-to-end client implementation for global cash management, payments, and related transaction banking solutions, ensuring scalable onboarding and smooth client adoption.

Key responsibilities

1. Develop and lead the Innovation and Digital Strategy covering channel, delivery, and risk management to support the long-term growth of Transaction Banking across relevant business areas.
2. Develop and drive Open Banking & Connectivity propositions across platforms and corporate clients, leveraging Banking-as-a-Service capabilities to deliver a superior customer experience and generate new business opportunities.
3. Identify and prioritize high-value opportunities aligned with Transaction Banking strategic priorities, and drive awareness, culture, training, and adoption of innovative capabilities to improve business growth and profitability.
4. Build and execute the digital and innovation roadmap to enhance customer experience and strengthen engagement in the digital landscape, with a focus on cash management, payments, and broader transaction banking capabilities.
5. Build and run the Transaction Banking digital bank/experience for Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, delivering the best end-to-end digital customer journey for cash management, payments, and related transaction banking services.
6. Build and manage a robust distribution channel using the latest mobile technologies to expand the Bank’s reach in client acquisition, cross-selling, servicing, and ongoing engagement for cash management and payments solutions.
7. Develop and maintain a sound Digital Risk Management framework with relevant stakeholders, and manage risks associated with digital assets and transaction flows.
8. Collaborate closely with Group Transaction Banking Digital leadership and Group office teams to plan, implement, and roll out regional digital initiatives and strategies across cash management, payments, and transaction banking.
9. Own end-to-end client delivery and implementation, including client onboarding, integration, and configuration across Cash Management, API Connectivity, Trade Finance, and Securities businesses.

Requirements

1. 18+ years of working experience, including at least 5 years in innovation, start-up, consultancy, or business development.
2. Strategic leadership with strong understanding of the innovation/fintech ecosystem, including competitor, regulatory, capability, and technology trends.
3. Active participation in innovation and fintech communities, with strong knowledge of digital technologies and the competitive landscape.
4. Experience engaging clients and internal partners to design and deliver impactful business solutions, particularly in cash management and payments/transaction banking.
5. Experience with global transaction banking products across multiple regions/countries.
6. Prior exposure to trade finance or supply-chain payment workflows (structured, document, or trade settlement models).
7. Experience with platform integration (e.g., ERP/treasury platforms, middleware, corporate treasury systems).
8. Experience running or improving digital customer journeys (e.g., self-service onboarding, guided setup, product configuration).
9. Strong business knowledge and understanding of diverse banking practices, with familiarity with banking and finance preferred.
10. Proven expertise in building business cases and communicating customer value propositions using data and analytics.
