About the Client: Our client is a highly successful, technology-driven global firm operating in complex, data-heavy markets. They employ a scientific, quantitative approach to their core business, relying on massive datasets, cutting-edge technology, and robust infrastructure. They are currently building out a modern, scalable global security function and need a senior, hands-on expert to help shape and drive this transformation.

The Role & Landscape: You'll be deep in the weeds building, operating, and improving core security platforms across a complex hybrid, multi-cloud, and on-prem environment.

1. Act as the SME for key security solutions, ensuring they are observable, scalable, and fully integrated.
2. Take hands-on responsibility for the health and evolution of security controls (Firewalls, EDR, SIEM, SASE, Identity).
3. Drive automation across security processes to reduce manual effort and improve resilience.
4. Handle complex troubleshooting and respond to critical security events within a global 24/7 operations model (includes rotational weekend coverage).
5. Partner closely with infrastructure and engineering teams to embed practical security controls that don't slow down delivery.

What We Are Looking For:

1. 10+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering or SecOps.
2. Deep technical understanding of networking (tcpdump, Wireshark), operating systems (Windows & Linux), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Alibaba).
3. Proven experience operating and automating security technologies (firewalls, EDR, SIEM, CASB, proxies).
4. Strong scripting or programming skills in at least one high-level language focused on automation.
5. An understanding of offensive security and how attacks manifest in real-world environments.
6. A pragmatic approach: you understand how to implement strong security without crippling operational speed.
7. Experience in low-latency or high-performance financial systems is a huge plus, but not strictly required if you have managed highly complex enterprise environments.
