Job Purpose

1. To perform checker role and quality assurance on periodic review, trigger event review, and EDD conducted by maker of Customer Due Diligence (“CDD”) team;
2. To support line managers in managing team of makers and/or checkers;
3. To support line managers on tasks as may be required relating to CDD.

Key Responsibilities

1. Follow up with the collection of detailed customer information and supporting documentation required for the completion of CDD reviews and trigger event reviews;
2. Support line manager in leading, coaching and motivating the team that are responsible to complete CDD profile for periodic reviews and triggered reviews;
3. Check the completeness and quality of all review documents submitted by CDD makers, including but not limited to the updated customer information, necessary risk and AML assessments, and internal forms, etc.;
4. Review Name Screening under the Bank’s AML / CTF program;
5. Review potential breach cases of Sanctions under the Bank’s AML / CTF program;
6. Support team head to drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational excellence, streamline and simplify the process, increase productivity, and enhance quality;
7. Liaise with BU and customers to handle escalated cases from makers to ensure customer satisfaction and case completeness;
8. Support team head to maintain an environment in which customer focus, compliance and risk control are key performance criteria;
9. Provide coaching and training to junior staff of the team;
10. Support frontline and adhere to anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing controls in accordance with regulatory standards and CNCBI policies.

Requirements

1. University degree in a related discipline or other relevant qualifications is preferred;
2. Minimum 5 years of CDD/ KYC related experience in banking is preferred;
3. Practical experience in handling CDD review for personal/corporate customers;
4. Holder of Associate AML Professional (AAMLP) Certificate under the HKMA ECF on AML/CFT is preferred;
5. Strong analytical mind and interpersonal skills;
6. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
7. Candidate with less experiences will be considered as Manager (1-year Contract).
