A dominant player in the financial services industry is seeking a qualified accountant with strong background in HK listing rules, securities regulations, market practices, and corporate governance requirements to join the company and lead a small team.
Job Description
- Lead and mentor a small team responsible for overseeing a portfolio of listed issuers, ensuring high standards of regulatory compliance and professional development.
- Monitor and assess compliance with the Listing Rules, providing regulatory guidance, reviewing issuer disclosures, and handling listing and waiver applications.
- Conduct proactive surveillance of listed companies, identifying compliance risks, complex regulatory issues, and emerging market trends, while driving timely resolutions.
- Provide expert advice on accounting, legal, business, financial, and corporate governance matters, particularly in relation to novel or high-profile cases.
- Drive operational excellence by contributing to process enhancements, regulatory initiatives, and continuous improvement projects across the department.
- Lead or actively participate in cross-functional projects involving project management, data analytics, technology solutions, publications, and industry engagement activities.
- Support talent development within the team by coaching junior members, delivering training, monitoring performance, and identifying opportunities for capability building.
- Qualified accountant, and university graduate in a relevant discipline such as finance, business, law, or accounting.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in accounting, corporate finance, financial regulation, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of the Hong Kong Listing Rules, securities regulations, market practices, and corporate governance requirements.
- Background from Big 4 is required to be considered for this position.
- Demonstrated expertise in accounting standards, financial reporting, and the assessment of complex business, and regulatory issues.
- Excellent analytical, investigative, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in English and Chinese, including fluency in Putonghua.
