Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

• He/she actively participates in tracking the Group's managerial KPI's, following prescribed guidelines and principles and ensures that uniform practices are adhered to by the key business units/segments.
• Review and analysis of the financial and non-financial information submitted by the assigned reporting units.
• Extraction and summarization of financial results of assigned segment / business unit from data reporting cubes.
• To identify and understand main business drivers, review actual performance versus quarterly forecasts and analyze variances.
• Assisting in the annual group budget & Strategy related work;
• Assist in annual impairment testing process and prepare necessary documentation needed for Sox/Internal controls.
• Financial modeling and analysis of cash flows;
• Act as coordinator for various activities with segments allocated and organize calls as necessary with assigned units / segments.
• Support quarterly earnings release process;
• Understand costing (fixed, variable);
• To assist in developing, updating, and using various central business models (working capital, price cost squeeze, forecasting, scenario planning etc.).
• Other ad-hoc reporting and analysis tasks / projects as may be assigned from time to time.

Education: Masters degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline

Skills & Specifications:

• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, controlling and the value drivers of the business.
• The role requires business acumen to go beyond the analysis of data to understand key business drivers and provide analytical insights on performance.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel is essential. Familiarity with data cubes and other reporting tools / software is desirable. High level of numeracy, an eye for detail and the ability to manage large sets of data is essential.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with Segment correspondents and colleagues from other Corporate departments.

Work experience requirements: 6-10 years' work experience in Controlling/Accounting & Reporting. Preference for work experience in in Steel or other Manufacturing industry. Experience in a manufacturing location would be an advantage

Languages: Fluent in English, written and spoken.

About the Team

Group Accounting and Performance Management consists of Group Accounting (Consolidation, Compliance & Group Financial Reporting Systems), Group Performance Management & Group Capex Controlling. Group Accounting is responsible for the preparation of ArcelorMittal Group's quarterly and annual financial statements and all related external reports for investors and regulators including quarterly earnings release, half yearly and annual reports and submission of financial and related information required under the Stock exchange regulations in the various jurisdictions where the company's securities are listed. Group Accounting also ensures that appropriate financial reporting systems and accounting policies are developed and deployed throughout the Group to enable preparation of financial statements that comply with IFRS and other applicable regulations. Group accounting also provides accounting guidance on complex transactions, leads the annual impairment test process, leads and monitors employee benefit schemes of the group and undertakes other specific projects as required from time to time. Group Performance Management is responsible for developing and maintaining the Group's management control systems and KPIs, leads the budget and forecasting process, monitors actual performance vs budgets and forecasts, supports management's decision making with appropriate data and analysis and works with Group HR to administer the Group's short term and long term performance incentive schemes. Group Performance Management is also responsible for preparation and presentation of data and analysis that supports the Group's liquidity planning and financial strategy and works with other functions on specific projects as required from time to time. Group Capex Controlling is responsible for all aspects of the Group's capital expenditure including developing, deploying and monitoring the Group's capital expenditure budget, evaluating and supporting the approval process for major capital projects by the Investment Allocation Committee and performing post competition review of major projects.
