An international real estate investment firm with a significant and expanding portfolio across Europe and globally is seeking to strengthen its Luxembourg finance team with the addition of a Senior Real Estate Accountant.
The business invests across a broad range of real estate structures and with AuM continuing to grow year-on-year, the organization offers exposure to a diverse and sophisticated international portfolio.
This position will have a particular focus on the group's French real estate portfolio, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure accurate accounting, reporting, and financial oversight of investments located in France.
Responsibilities
- Manage the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of French real estate investment entities.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee general ledger activities, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
- Coordinate with local accounting firms, property managers, tax advisors, and auditors in France.
- Review reporting received from external service providers and ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and variance analysis for French assets.
- Participate in acquisitions, disposals, refinancing transactions, and corporate restructurings from an accounting perspective.
- Assist with the preparation of management reporting packages for senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with Luxembourg and French accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or finance within Real Estate.
- Strong understanding of real estate investment structures, SPVs, holding companies, and cross-border investment vehicles.
- Knowledge of French accounting practices and real estate market structures would be considered a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders in an international environment.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting and reporting systems.
- Fluency in French and English is essential.
