A regional banking group with strong presence across ASIA is seeking a strategic and commercially driven senior banking leader to serve as Country Distribution Head within Consumer/Retail Banking franchise. This role is based in Malaysia and would be responsible for leading the end-to-end retail distribution strategy across the Branch Banking Network, Affluent Banking, High Net Worth (HNW), Affluent and Emerging Affluent segments, with accountability for overall P&L, service quality and segment health of the business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the overall strategy, profitability, and performance of the Sales Network that comprises of Branches and Affluent Segments business across Malaysia.
2. Drive growth across affluent banking, HNW, and Emerging affluent customer segments.
3. Develop and execute multi-year strategies to increase AUM, CASA growth, investment penetration, insurance and wealth revenue, and lending growth.
4. Oversee nationwide branch distribution and sales management.
5. Optimize physical and digital distribution models to improve client experience and profitability.
6. Lead and scale the HNW segments proposition.
7. Deliver strong financial performance across wealth income, fee income, deposits, loans, bancassurance, and investment products.
8. Lead, inspire, and develop a large nationwide frontline workforce.
9. Ensure strong governance, operational controls, and regulatory compliance across all branches and customer segments.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Banking, or related disciplines; MBA preferred.
2. Minimum 15–20 years of progressive banking experience within Consumer Banking, Retail Banking, Wealth Management, or Branch Distribution.
3. Proven leadership experience managing large-scale branch and affluent banking businesses.
4. Strong track record in sales leadership, affluent client growth, AUM expansion, and wealth management.
5. Deep understanding of Malaysia consumer banking and wealth management landscape.
6. Strong stakeholder management and executive leadership capabilities.
7. Experience leading affluent banking or branch distribution in a regional or international bank.
8. Exposure to digital transformation and omni-channel banking strategies.
9. Familiarity with HNW/UHNW client management models and wealth advisory ecosystems.
10. Regional ASEAN exposure would be advantageous.
