We are exclusively representing a leading proprietary trading firm in the search for a Head of Group Accounting & Reporting.
This is a senior leadership opportunity within a globally recognised quantitative trading and technology-driven financial services organisation. Reporting to the Global Head of Finance, the role is responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of consolidated financial reporting across an international business operating in a complex and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Group's consolidated financial reporting function, ensuring compliance with IFRS and the integrity of financial statements.
- Lead the development and governance of the Group's technical accounting framework, driving consistency across multiple jurisdictions.
- Provide technical accounting expertise on complex transactions, new business initiatives, and evolving regulatory requirements.
- Partner closely with Finance, Risk, Legal, Tax, and senior business stakeholders on accounting and reporting matters.
- Lead the preparation of annual and interim financial statements, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external reporting standards.
- Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes, maintaining a strong controls environment and high-quality reporting standards globally.
- Act as the primary relationship manager for external auditors, leading the Group audit process and resolving technical accounting matters.
- Present key accounting judgements and reporting matters to executive leadership and governance committees.
- Support finance transformation initiatives, including process optimisation, automation, controls enhancement, and the use of emerging technologies.
- Oversee statutory and regulatory reporting obligations across relevant entities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting and reporting team.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience across technical accounting, financial reporting, accounting advisory, audit, or controllership functions.
- Strong expertise in IFRS, financial instruments, and fair value accounting.
- Experience operating within financial services, capital markets, proprietary trading, investment management, fintech, market infrastructure, or similarly complex international organisations.
- Excellent technical judgement combined with a pragmatic, commercial mindset.
- Proven track record working with senior executives, board-level stakeholders, and external auditors.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, RA, CPA or equivalent).
- Big 4 background is advantageous.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing global teams and stakeholders.
