We are seeking an experienced Group Finance Transformation & Process Improvement Lead for a 12-month consulting engagement with a fast-growing international financial services group undergoing significant expansion and transformation.
This is a great fit for someone who combines strong technical accounting and Group consolidation expertise with a transformation mindset, and who enjoys getting hands-on to resolve complex finance issues while using process improvement, automation and AI to build a more scalable and controlled Finance function.
The Role
- Lead the hands-on remediation of historical finance and accounting records across multiple Group entities, including GL analysis, reconciliations and balance sheet clean-up.
- Investigate aged, unusual or unsupported transactions, resolve accounting issues and strengthen supporting documentation and audit trails.
- Establish and enhance the Group consolidation and reporting process, improving the accuracy, consistency and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Standardise consolidation processes across entities, including chart-of-accounts mapping, consolidation adjustments, intercompany eliminations and FX translation.
- Review and strengthen intercompany accounting, including reconciliations, related-party transactions and documentation supporting transfer pricing requirements.
- Identify recurring accounting and control issues, address root causes and strengthen the overall financial control environment.
- Review existing Excel-intensive processes and identify opportunities to standardise, automate and improve consolidation, reporting, reconciliation and data workflows.
- Explore the practical application of AI, machine learning and intelligent automation to improve finance processes, controls and exception identification.
- Review selected Finance and wider business workflows to strengthen controls, approval processes, cost management and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement a roadmap towards a more scalable, automated and well-controlled Group Finance function.
Your Profile
- 10+ years of relevant Finance experience, preferably within wealth management, private banking, EAM, IFA, insurance, asset management or broader financial services.
- Strong technical accounting fundamentals with the ability and willingness to work hands-on at General Ledger and transaction level.
- Demonstrated experience resolving complex accounting, reconciliation, financial-control or historical remediation issues.
- Strong experience in Group consolidation and multi-entity reporting, ideally across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience with intercompany accounting, related-party transactions and transfer pricing documentation would be advantageous.
- Track record in finance transformation, process improvement, internal controls or operating-model enhancement.
- Strong understanding of Excel-based finance processes with experience improving them through systems, automation or data solutions.
- Exposure to AI-enabled finance transformation, intelligent automation, machine learning or analytics would be highly advantageous.
- Experience supporting rapid business growth, M&A integration, new-market entry or organisational transformation would be beneficial.
- Highly independent, pragmatic and execution-oriented, with the ability to move comfortably between detailed accounting work and broader transformation initiatives.
