We are looking for a SAP Basis Administrator with approximately 2 years of hands-on experience to support and maintain our SAP landscape. The role will provide day-to-day technical administration and operational support for SAP systems including SAP ECC, BW, Enterprise Portal (EP), GRC, and Solution Manager .

The successful candidate will work across SAP HANA, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), and SAP ASE databases , with operating environments consisting of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) and Microsoft Windows Server .

The role is suitable for someone who has a good foundation in SAP Basis administration and is looking to develop deeper expertise in SAP system operations, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, upgrades, and system lifecycle activities.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Basis Administration

1. Perform day-to-day administration and monitoring of SAP systems including:
2. SAP ECC
3. SAP BW
4. SAP Enterprise Portal (EP)
5. SAP GRC
6. SAP Solution Manager
7. Monitor SAP system availability, work processes, system logs, dumps, locks, and overall system health.
8. Perform SAP start/stop activities and troubleshoot system availability issues.
9. Monitor background jobs and investigate failed or long-running jobs.
10. Manage SAP users, roles, authorizations, and basic security-related activities in coordination with the appropriate teams.
11. Perform routine SAP Basis housekeeping and system health checks.
12. Monitor SAP system performance and escalate issues where required.
13. Assist with SAP kernel upgrades, Support Package updates, patches, and related maintenance activities.
14. Support SAP Notes implementation and technical remediation activities under senior administrator guidance.
15. Assist with SAP system refreshes, client administration, and system copies.
16. Support SAP transport management across development, test, and production environments.
17. Monitor and troubleshoot RFC connections, IDocs, interfaces, and other basic SAP connectivity issues.

Database Administration & Support

1. Provide basic administration and monitoring support for:
2. SAP HANA
3. Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL)
4. SAP ASE
5. Monitor database availability, space utilization, backups, alerts, and basic performance indicators.
6. Assist with database backup and recovery activities.
7. Perform database housekeeping and capacity monitoring.
8. Work with database administrators and application teams to troubleshoot database-related SAP issues.
9. Monitor SAP HANA services and assist with basic HANA administration tasks.
10. Assist with database patching and maintenance activities.

Operating System Administration (Mandatory)

1. Provide basic operating system support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) and Microsoft Windows Server environments.
2. Monitor CPU, memory, disk space, processes, filesystems, and system availability.
3. Perform basic troubleshooting of OS-related issues affecting SAP systems.
4. Manage SAP-related services and processes.
5. Perform filesystem housekeeping and log management.
6. Coordinate with infrastructure teams for OS patching, server maintenance, and capacity issues.

SAP Solution Manager

1. Monitor SAP systems through SAP Solution Manager.
2. Assist with system monitoring, technical monitoring, and alert management.
3. Support basic SAP Solution Manager administration and housekeeping.
4. Assist with incident investigation and system health reporting.

Incident, Change & Operational Support

1. Respond to SAP Basis incidents and service requests within agreed SLA requirements.
2. Perform initial investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of SAP technical issues.
3. Escalate complex issues to senior Basis administrators, infrastructure, database, or SAP application teams.
4. Participate in planned maintenance, patching, upgrades, and system changes.
5. Maintain accurate technical documentation and operational procedures.
6. Participate in on-call or after-hours support where required.
7. Follow ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.

Required Skills & Experience

1. Approximately 2 years of experience in SAP Basis administration/support . (Optional, training will be provided)
2. Hands-on exposure to SAP Basis administration in an enterprise environment. (Optional, training will be provided)
3. Experience supporting one or more of the following SAP systems: (Optional, training will be provided)
4. SAP ECC
5. SAP BW
6. SAP Enterprise Portal
7. SAP GRC
8. SAP Solution Manager
9. Basic knowledge of SAP system architecture and SAP NetWeaver administration. (Optional, training will be provided)
10. Working knowledge of SAP transport management, background jobs, RFCs, system monitoring, and troubleshooting. (Optional, training will be provided)
11. Basic experience with SAP HANA administration and monitoring. (Optional, training will be provided)
12. Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server and/or SAP ASE databases. (Optional, training will be provided)
13. Basic knowledge of SUSE Linux administration. (Mandatory)
14. Basic knowledge of Windows Server administration. (Mandatory)
15. Familiarity with SAP users, roles, authorizations, and security concepts. (Optional, training will be provided)
16. Good troubleshooting and analytical skills. (Mandatory)
17. Ability to work effectively with application, database, infrastructure, and security teams.

Education

1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
2. Relevant SAP Basis certification or training is an advantage.
