Working Patterns and location - Fully on site
Key responsibilities
• Build and develop secure, highly available cloud-based solutions within an agile delivery team.
• Lead the design of cloud architecture for complex, secure environments.
• Engage directly with customers to understand and translate their requirements.
• Implement core infrastructure and security services in AWS, meeting compliance objectives.
• Work with support teams to enable monitoring and management of cloud-based systems.
• Provide third-line support to deployed cloud solutions as required.
• Line manage and mentor junior engineers, supporting their professional development.
• Automate time-intensive processes to improve efficiency across the cloud ecosystem.
Skills & experience
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including compute and managed services.
• Full-stack development experience for cloud in languages such as Python or Node.js.
• Experience delivering Kubernetes or AWS EKS container-based solutions.
• Experience managing infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Strong cloud architecture and design capability for secure, scalable environments.
• Experience with cloud migration planning and execution.
• Experience managing or mentoring junior colleagues in a technical environment.
• Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies and working in agile teams.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience automating BAU tasks such as account creation, user management, and compliance monitoring.
• Familiarity with microservice and container-based deployment strategies and zero trust models.
• Experience migrating on-premises solutions to AWS.
• Exposure to other cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
