The Marketing and Events Associate will support, develop and deliver marketing and communication plans across Canaccord Genuity's Advisory, Equities, Trading and Quest businesses, helping to drive client retention and acquisition while enhancing the firm's brand, profile and reputation within the capital markets sector.

The role requires a proactive, hands-on approach, strong organisational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives and events in a highly regulated and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to execute marketing campaigns, coordinate events and contribute insights to support broader marketing objectives.

Your role:

Marketing Support and Planning:

1. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver marketing initiatives and events effectively, on time and within budget.
2. Partner with business and sector heads to plan and execute client events, webinars and industry conferences that support business development objectives and enhance CGL's market profile.
3. Collaborate with the Advisory, Equities, Trading and Quest teams to align marketing activity with business priorities and client engagement objectives.
4. Coordinate and promote company sponsorships in partnership with PAs, Investor Relations and other internal stakeholders, ensuring sponsorship opportunities are effectively leveraged to enhance brand awareness, client engagement and commercial outcomes.
5. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform the overall strategy.

Brand Management:

1. Liaise closely with the US Marketing Team to ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all channels and materials.
2. Contribute to the periodic review and own the update and maintenance of brand guidelines. Ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders execute and adhere to these guidelines accordingly.
3. Build and maintain the company’s reputation as a trusted provider of capital markets services.
4. Oversee the production of high-quality, compliant marketing collateral tailored to target audiences.

Content Creation and Thought Leadership:

1. Provide guidance and assistance to colleagues creating compelling content, with the aim of positioning the company as a thought leader in the respective sectors.
2. Ability to use Adobe Creative cloud and Microsoft Powerpoint to create content including deal leucites/tombstones, social media content, design of invitations, staff and event photography and moving media.
3. Manage content distribution through digital and traditional channels.

Digital Marketing and Analytics:

1. Being the DealCloud champion, working alongside support staff and sector teams to reinforce utilisation of the CRM system.
2. Oversee the company’s digital presence in conjunction with the US marketing team, SEO, social media, and email marketing campaigns via CRM.
3. Liaise with the US Marketing team to leverage data analytics tools in order to measure campaign performance and refine marketing strategies.

Client Events

1. Collaborate closely with the European Evens Manager to plan, coordinate and support the corporate events across the organisation.
2. Research and propose cost effective event ideas for consideration and approval.
3. Oversee allocated event budget, ensuring expenditure remains within approved limits.
4. Liaise with colleagues across the company to ensure events are adequately promoted across the business divisions.
5. Attend events as required. Flexibility is key to accommodate occasional out-of-hours commitments.

Regulatory Compliance:

1. Ensure all marketing activities comply with FCA regulations and industry standards.
2. Understand the risk implications of client entertainment and work within the Company’s set parameters.
3. Work closely with the legal and compliance teams to review and approve marketing materials.

Our ideal candidate

1. 2-3 years of marketing experience, ideally in financial services
2. Excellent Adobe Cloud, Excel, PowerPoint and Word Skills.
3. Good knowledge of CRM
4. Experience using Google Analytics and LinkedIn Ad Manager for data analysis and reporting.
5. Experience implementing and tracking digital marketing campaigns.
6. Experience of social media management.
7. Experience of creating email newsletters
8. Critical and independent thinker/analytical/logical and reasoned.
9. Excellent attention to detail.
10. Excellent written & spoken English.
