Python Software Engineer - Regulatory Reporting

A leading global market maker is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join its Regulatory Reporting Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in designing and building the technology that underpins international trade and transaction reporting across a highly sophisticated trading environment. You will help deliver scalable solutions that meet evolving regulatory requirements while driving innovation across the firm's reporting landscape.

You'll collaborate closely with engineering teams, risk, and business stakeholders to transform complex regulatory obligations into robust technical solutions. With a strong focus on data, automation, modernisation, and AI-enabled engineering practices, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of the firm's regulatory technology platform.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, develop, and maintain compliance applications and data pipelines
  • Deliver end-to-end software solutions across front-to-back trading systems
  • Build and enhance platforms supporting international trade and transaction reporting needs
  • Partner with IT, compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery
  • Analyse reporting and data quality, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and operational efficiency
  • Support the SLDC, including production support, troubleshooting, and system enhancements
  • Leverage modern data engineering practices, automation, and AI-enabled workflows to improve development and reporting capabilities

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related IT discipline
  • Strong Python development experience
  • Excellent SQL and database expertise
  • Solid understanding of software development best practices, system design, and data architecture
  • Experience building data-intensive applications and distributed systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
