We are currently recruiting for a Paralegal to join our national Employment team, based in either our Birmingham, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle or Nottingham offices. The successful candidate will work as part of a team providing support to case handlers.

Main duties and responsibilities

Assisting case handlers and other team members with progressing employment tribunal claims, including:

• Collating documents into bundles
• Drafting documents (including employment tribunal related documents, sending emails to witnesses, clients, the Tribunal, ACAS and other third parties)
• Routine telephone calls to clients, witnesses, the Tribunal, ACAS and others
• Comply with relevant Weightmans and client policies and procedures
• Create new clients and matters ensuring compliance with internal procedures
• Perform general file management duties including identifying and logging key dates
• Close/archive files ensuring all MI is captured
• Prepare and send out various internal and external documents
• Work in accordance with Weightmans' values

About You

You will have previous experience and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work.

We also require you to:

• Be a team player
• Be an experienced Paralegal with prior experience of employment tribunal litigation and of working in a similar environment
• Be able to show initiative and be self-motivated when required to work on your own
• Be comfortable and confident using the telephone
• Have strong organisational and communication skills
• Have the ability to prioritise tasks and your workload
• Have good housekeeping skills
• A "hands on" approach to work
• Good technical IT skills
