Supporting Safer Futures Through Housing, Justice and Opportunity
Nacro is a national social justice charity, working at the intersection of homelessness, criminal justice and education. Through housing, resettlement and support services, Nacro helps thousands of people each year to rebuild their lives and live independently within their communities.
Operating with a strong social enterprise approach, Nacro delivers services through locally, regionally and nationally commissioned contracts. This brings both opportunity and complexity - requiring careful balance between mission-led delivery and the commercial realities of a regulated and evolving funding environment.
With a new Chief Executive and a renewed strategy from 2027, we are building on several years of significant growth and evolution, continuing to strengthen our governance and emphasis on outcomes, impact and long-term sustainability.
The Role
We are now seeking a new Trustee to join the Board, bringing strategic housing expertise, to contribute to this next phase.
As a Trustee, you will work collectively with the Board to shape Nacro's strategy, ensure effective governance and hold the executive to account for delivery. You will contribute insight, constructive challenge and oversight across a complex and highly regulated operating environment.
You will also sit on the Housing Committee and play a key role in supporting Nacro's housing offer - including its financial sustainability, risk management and service delivery framework. Trustees will also have opportunities to engage with the organisation beyond the boardroom, including visiting services and meeting staff and service users.
About You
We are particularly interested in candidates who bring:
We also welcome applications from first-time Trustees who bring Board-level seniority and strategic perspective.
This is an opportunity to join a stable, committed and engaged Board, where Trustees make a long-term contribution and work collaboratively to support Nacro's impact. If you are motivated to apply your experience to a purpose-driven organisation that works tirelessly to support people in building independent and positive futures, we would be delighted to hear from you.
