Quality Assurance & Controls Team Lead
Quality Assurance & Controls Team Lead

Department: Performance Management, MI & Data Analytics

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: UK - London

Reporting To: Charlotte Banner

Description

Data drives every decision we make at CFC. From underwriting performance and portfolio management to carrier reporting and strategic growth, trusted data is critical to our success.

We're looking for a Quality Assurance & Controls Lead to build and own the governance framework that sits behind our underwriting MI and data insights capability. This is an opportunity to shape how one of the world's leading specialist insurers manages, controls and trusts its data.

You'll be joining at an exciting stage of growth and transformation, working at the intersection of underwriting, data, operations and performance management. Rather than simply maintaining existing processes, you'll help define them, creating the controls, standards and governance that ensure our reporting is accurate, reliable and fit for purpose.

If you're someone who enjoys bringing order to complexity, building robust frameworks, improving operational efficiency and influencing how data is managed across a business, this role offers genuine impact and visibility.

About the role

As Quality Assurance & Controls Lead, you'll establish and own the control environment that underpins underwriting reporting and data insights across CFC.

Working closely with teams across Data, Operations and Underwriting, you'll ensure the information used to make critical business decisions is complete, accurate and trusted. You'll develop governance frameworks, create quality standards and build scalable processes that support continued growth and modernisation across the business.

You'll play a key role in shaping how underwriting data is managed, controlled and monitored, helping to create a culture where quality, consistency and accountability are embedded into everything we do.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and owning the underwriting data control framework, including governance standards, health checks and reporting controls.
  • Establishing processes that ensure reporting outputs are accurate, complete and reliable.
  • Partnering with Data teams to develop data definitions, business glossaries and reporting catalogues.
  • Supporting strategic transformation and operating model initiatives by embedding effective governance and controls.
  • Working closely with MI and reporting teams during month-end and quarter-end cycles to validate reporting delivered to brokers and carrier partners.
  • Leading exception reporting and identifying risks, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Owning Master Data Management (MDM) processes for underwriting data.
  • Documenting data lineage, process flows and control effectiveness across the reporting landscape.
  • Helping build a high-performing quality assurance and controls capability that supports business growth.

This is a highly collaborative role that combines governance, analytics, operational improvement and stakeholder management, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.

About you

You'll likely come from a data governance, controls, risk, reporting or quality assurance background and be passionate about improving the quality, reliability and effectiveness of business data.

You enjoy challenging existing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and creating practical solutions that enable teams to make better decisions with confidence.

We're particularly interested in people who also bring:
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance market, including Company and/or Lloyd's environments.
  • Experience working with underwriting, reporting or performance management data.
  • An understanding of control frameworks, governance standards and risk management principles.
  • Experience working within delegated authority, MGA or specialty insurance environments
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset and the judgement to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.

You'll be joining a company that is transforming the insurance market through technology and innovation.
