Guided by A&M's core values of Integrity, Quality, Objectivity, Fun, Personal Reward, and Inclusive Diversity, our collaborative, globally minded environment is why our people love working at A&M.

The Team

The Learning & Development team partners with A&M's businesses and corporate functions to build the skills our professionals need to deliver for clients. Within the technical learning portfolio, we work closely with Learning Partners, subject matter experts, and delivery teams to design, deliver, and evaluate programs, with a growing focus on building AI capability across the firm in collaboration with the Global AI and Knowledge Organization. The team operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where strategic thinking, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to anticipate and solve problems are essential.

How you will contribute

The Technical Portfolio Associate Director / Director is responsible for designing programs that build AI capability across the firm. This role works closely with Learning Partners, subject matter experts (SMEs), and delivery teams to ensure that training programs are aligned with the organization's goals and needs. The position requires knowledge of instructional design, learning content management, learning operations and project management, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience managing technical AI learning programs, within a professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including Learning Partners, subject matter experts (SMEs), and delivery teams to ensure the effective design, development, and evaluation of technical training programs.

• Training Needs Identification: Collaborate with Learning Partners to assess and prioritize technical training needs to ensure alignment with organizational goals, particularly addressing business and performance challenges.

• Best Practices Guidance: Advise on best practices and effective blended learning approaches to address identified technical performance challenges, especially around AI learning, ensuring the solutions align with business objectives.

• Design Proposals: Develop learning design proposals for business stakeholders, incorporating intended learning outcomes to align with technical learning needs.

• Operational Support: Recommend ways to refine and manage the processes, methodologies, and tools for creating, organizing, delivering, and evaluating technical learning content.

• Course Catalog Assistance: Support the ongoing maintenance of the technical course catalog to reflect current offerings and ensure alignment with evolving business needs and priorities.

AI Learning Strategy & Leadership:

• AI Learning Roadmap: Own the AI learning roadmap in partnership with business units and Learning Partners, translating AI developments and business needs into learning priorities.

• AI Learning Programs: Identify evolving AI skill needs and gaps across the organization, business units, and specific roles, and translate them into role-based learning programs tailored to distinct audiences, from junior campus hires to experienced practitioners, people leaders, and senior executives.

• Scaling Solutions: Evaluate existing AI learning solutions across business units and regions, and design new solutions with global scalability in mind.

• AI Subject Matter Expert: Serve as the internal AI learning subject matter expert and thought leader across business units globally, staying abreast of AI learning trends and sharing approaches to build capability across business units, the learning team, and other portfolios.

• AI Integration Across Portfolios: Serve as an AI subject matter expert to non-technical learning portfolios, helping them integrate AI into their curricula.

• AI Change Management: Partner with the Global AI and Knowledge Organization to support AI change management, including strategy, products, and tools, across the firm.

Course Design & Development:

• Content Development and Evaluation: Design and develop technical learning programs, including industry-specific and methodology-focused content, ensuring alignment with defined learning objectives. Evaluate program effectiveness, attending courses as needed, and analyze evaluation results to measure impact and drive continuous improvement.

• AI Program Design: Design learning programs that embed AI into ways of working, pair human skills with AI capability, and support responsible AI use and AI-related risk management.

• Existing Solutions Review: Partner with business stakeholders and Learning Partners to assess current technical learning solutions, facilitating updates, revisions, and continuous improvement to enhance impact.

• Design Process Adherence: Ensure adherence to design principles and project timelines, so learning initiatives are delivered on time and in line with project specifications.

• SME Collaboration: Work directly with SMEs to develop and review content, ensuring accuracy and relevance to technical learning objectives.

• Instructional Design: Apply instructional design principles to create engaging, effective learning experiences, utilizing multimedia resources where appropriate, to enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention.

• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with content vendors. Partner with account managers to book dates, select trainers, negotiate terms / rates, and review and execute agreements and invoices. Team with instructors to design and deliver high-quality courses.

Course Preparation & Execution:

• Delivery Coordination: Work with the delivery team to kick off new courses, ensuring readiness and alignment with portfolio objectives.

• Training Support: Provide on-site or remote support during course conduct, as needed, to ensure a seamless training experience and to evaluate course effectiveness.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Personal Professional Development: Continuously improve personal professional development to stay current with trends and best practices in technical learning, with a special focus on AI learning, ensuring A&M's training solutions are innovative and impactful.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, human resources, business administration, or a related field.
