The opportunity

A leading global life insurance brand is hiring a Business Development Director to build and lead its global high net worth growth agenda from Hong Kong. The role reports directly to the CEO and has a global remit across multiple jurisdictions, with real influence over where the business plays, who it partners with and how it wins.

What you will do

You will originate and close strategic distribution relationships across the global high net worth market, including private banks, independent wealth advisers, international brokers and family offices. You will shape the go to market approach by jurisdiction, working with product, underwriting, legal and compliance teams so that what you sell can be properly delivered in each market. You will also represent the business externally with senior intermediaries and ultra high net worth clients, and give the CEO a clear commercial view of pipeline, competitor moves and market opportunity.

What you will bring

1. Substantial experience in global high net worth life insurance, with a track record of building new business rather than managing existing flow.
2. Deep life insurance knowledge, including the structures, products and underwriting considerations specific to high net worth and ultra high net worth clients.
3. Hands on experience across multiple jurisdictions, with a working understanding of cross border regulation, tax and suitability.
4. Established relationships with private banks, brokers, advisers or family offices.
5. The credibility and judgement to work directly with a CEO and to influence senior stakeholders across the business.
