Role Summary
We are seeking an Executive Director to Managing Director-level Team Leader to lead and grow Greater China HNW/UHNW (High Net Worth/Ultra-High Net Worth) coverage within a major international private bank's Hong Kong franchise. This role uniquely combines personal client book leadership with direct people management responsibilities, requiring you to bring or attract approximately 2–3 Relationship Managers to form a cohesive Greater China team serving Mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan-linked clients.

The hiring organization is a major international private bank with an established and prestigious Hong Kong private banking franchise serving HNW and UHNW clients. The bank operates to institutional KYC/AML, suitability, and cross-border conduct standards with a comprehensive product and specialist platform typical of a scaled Asia private bank.
Team & Reporting Line
You will direct a team of Relationship Managers specializing in Greater China HNW/UHNW coverage. You will partner closely with investment, credit, and wealth-planning leadership to maximize platform capabilities for your clients.
Location & Work Mode
This is an in-office, Hong Kong-based role. Coverage spans Mainland-, Hong Kong-, and Taiwan-linked HNW/UHNW wealth booked through the Hong Kong platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a Greater China coverage team through coaching, performance management, hiring input, and franchise standards establishment
- Carry and grow a personal HNW/UHNW book while serving as the senior client contact for key relationships
- Attract, integrate, or bring 2–3 Relationship Managers with existing Greater China HNW/UHNW client followings to build a sustainable team franchise
- Set team priorities for client acquisition, AUM growth, and client experience aligned with the bank's Hong Kong private banking strategy
- Uphold KYC/AML, suitability, and cross-border conduct standards across the team and escalate issues early
- Partner with investment, credit, and wealth-planning leadership to unlock platform capabilities for Greater China clients
- Represent the desk internally at pipeline, risk, and revenue forums and contribute to succession and coverage continuity for UHNW families
Required Qualifications
- Proven executive-level experience in private banking or wealth management with a personal HNW/UHNW client book
- Demonstrated success in team leadership and people management within financial services
- Established network and capability to attract or bring 2–3 Relationship Managers with Greater China HNW/UHNW coverage
- Deep knowledge of KYC/AML compliance, suitability standards, and cross-border regulatory requirements
- Experience serving cross-border clients across Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan markets
