Anshu Jain is still hiring and sifting staff at Cantor in NYC
As we've reported before, ex-Deutsche Bank CEO Anshu Jain is making his mark at Cantor Fitzgerald. Jain joined Cantor as president in January with a mandate to help the firm through its "next phase of growth" and build Cantor's presence in prime broking and fixed income sales and trading. Since then there have been various senior hires, but also various exits.
The latest senior arrivals are Ryan McDuffy and Dave Rogers.
McDuffy has 13 years' experience trading bonds at Merrill Lynch, Scotia Bank and - most recently BBVA. He joins Cantor as an MD (having been an ED at BBVA), suggesting Cantor is handing out promotions as well as hiring. In April, Cantor hired James Papas, an experienced credit trader who formerly worked for UBS.
Rogers comes from Deutsche Bank, where he was a former head of the Americas equity finance operation and head of Americas prime brokerage. He's Cantor's third big Americas prime broking hire this year after Greg Dabal from Credit Suisse and Keith Babbitt from Knight Capital were hired in March.
As new staff come in, old Cantor hands are dropping out. Stephen Muto, a high yield trading veteran who joined Cantor in 2009 after Bear Stearns collapsed left in March. Todd Sycoff, another MD in high yield trading, left in May.
